It's a lot easier to change your 1541 rom revision on a emu then a real drive! Fastloaders need to be tested against *all drive rom revisions*. I've played originals that did NOT like certain drive rom revisions, and you may not have access to all of the drive rom revisions in real life. In that manner, a crash on an emulator can indeed reveal a problem that you cannot reproduce on your real boxes. This is mainly a problem on 1541 drive roms. the 1541-IIs are more stable, and if it works on one it shoudl work on tem all, i think. It would be wrong to code based on emus because the emus themselves are changing constantly to improve accuracy based on the real thing so that should indeed be the coding standard. Game works fine on a real machine and that's what counts. Peoples behind CCS should fix it to get their emulator closer to the real thing. That said, I've gotten bored with it. perhaps you just need to play it longer to trigger the bug then I've ever bothered. Once youg get the game down you can play for a while without cheat. Rescue on Fractalus, though. I've had many versions crash on me, and experrienced a bug where sometiems the game decides that ALL pilots are aliens except the ace. this makes the game very frustrating when it happens. Slamball crashes with both Vice1.17 & CCS3.0b1.7 In Vice it jammed at $FEFA and CCS $178D (but could be even more diff adresses as well) I only selected your "infinate balls" cheat and started from the beginning. The bug is not level related but seems score related maybe? because it always happens past 150.000pts when the ball is gaining more speed. Also the music is really quiet while sound effects are normally loud. Is this normal for this game? AS for whether REMEMBER re-cracks, it's all a matter of semantics. They don't re-brand other poeple's cracks. They do all their re-cracking from originals. That said, sometimes recracking is a positive thing. I have a version of Grogs Revenge that was re-cracked. The original crack plasters the pirates names over the high scores that were spposed to be saved. They did this with a little hex-editing and reversing a test. The re-cracker put the test back, to re-enable the high score saver, and undid the childish "I.C.E. breakers" branding. He also replaced their loader with one that told you which joystick port to use. This means no arcade conversions unless they had somethuing that makes them really special, no games that were better on other systems, etc. I'm trying to make ones that aren't BRANDED as much as possible. In a few cases i've had to resort to freezering .TAP files to get some. I like your releases because they have fixed bugs, trainers, high score savers, etc, but do not have anything outside of your intro branded, just how I like em. I do suggest that in the case of all games that do not access the disk after load that ypu place the single releases in .t64 format (if they are multi-file) or direct prg format if they are onefiles.
